Citations For Local Businesses

Written by in General | Comments Off on Citations For Local Businesses

The more citations you have the better! Especially in the online marketing world. If you own a business and you have heard of or read about citations, you may be confused about exactly what they are and why you need them to help your website’s ranking. In simple terms, a citation in the online world refers to any time your company information is listed on a website. These include listings such as local directories, such as Yelp.com, YellowPages.com, Scoot and BrownBook to name a few Also, citations can be found on other types of websites such as local blogs, news website, employment sites, social media sites, government sites, the Chamber of Commerce site, and anything else that may mention your company. Even if the mention has no link to your company’s website and only your company’s name is mentioned, it is still considered a citation. However, the more information included, the better. Why Citations Are Good Any online exposure for your company will bring attention to your products and services, which you can obviously benefit from. Exposure opens you up to potential customers that may have previously passed you by; and citations play a vital role in helping you connect with these potential buyers. In addition to that, citations are critical for search engine optimization today.  Google and other search engines use citations to rank your business. The more citations you have, the higher your website will list in the search results. A higher ranking means more web traffic, which in turn equals more business for you. So what is the key to getting more citations for your business? While there are a variety of ways to accomplish this, it all boils down to building more of a presence online. However, several factors should be considered when building these citations. Tips for Citations At the very least, your citations should mention your company’s formal name, your physical address, and your local phone number (also called NAP for “Name, Address, Phone Number”) – and anything else that tells a search engine or a customer exactly who you are. Even more important is that all of your citations are consistent and contain the exact same information.  Using different addresses and phone numbers (except in the case of multiple locations) could actually hurt your ability to gain any benefits from them. Finally, a citation is most effective when it is accompanied by as much information about your business as possible. So be sure to include your hours of operations, pictures, videos, details about your products and services, and any other helpful information you think your potential customers would like to have. So as you can see local citations are important – if you want to rank well in the search engines –  The higher up in the pages you are for your keywords the more visitors you’ll get and therefore more enquiries If you need help or advice, please call for a no obligation consultation on how we can help you to get more leads through the higher ranking of you...

Video Testimonials For Business

Written by in General | 0 comments

Using video testimonials helps your business’s credibility. We all know that having a series of written testimonials on your website can help to make your visitor more comfortable in using your services. But we all now that its possible to fake these. Yet just having written testimonials does work. According to Cisco research 78% of people will choose a business based on referralls/testimonials. But having video testimonials on your website has proven to be more effective. When we read a testimonial, we are using just one of our senses, but how can we relate to that person, we don’t know if there are like us. Unfortunately we do follow the crowd and are influenced by our so called ‘Peers’.  And if you are targeting a particular sector, then no doubt you have the kind of person in mind that you want to do business with – sometimes called your avatar. So having a video testimonial on your site from one of your peers, whereby you can see them, hear them and almost relate to them – Someone who has the same ideals, aspirations, level of income etc, can influence the visitor to your site to take action and buy from you or maybe just call you to start the interaction. This is a video I made for a local estate agent. To be fair she was an easy interviewee. Like most people that I have interviewed for testimonials, she knew what she wanted to say and just needed a little coaxing Usher Media can contact your customers and clients to arrange a video testimonial for your business. You cannot have enough testimonials on your site. Call us today 07712 777...

Video Marketing Using The Business Owner’s Voice

Written by in General | 0 comments

People love to deal with real people. So I do not know why, actors are used to front videos for small business. In this video I created for Pete Hillier of Eco Fires and Stoves in Church Crookham, you can see a business owner really explaining why he recommends this particular product. Whilst its not a glossy, beautifully filmed piece, it nevertheless get the information across in a natural way. After all, when people come onto the internet, they are looking for information not some beautifully filmed images. So you could say this is a kind of promotional/informational video. Of course there is a place for those kind of videos, where you bring on a full production crew that costs £2k and much more. Such as up market restaurants, hotels or expensive cars. But with video marketing for local businesses, I believe either the interview with the owner type of video works best or the promotional/informational video. For me Pete comes across in a very natural...

Video Interview With Inventor Of The SHOFT

Written by in General | 0 comments

This is a video interview with Graham Cox the co-Inventor of the SHOFT Graham along with his dad Ronald is the Co-Inventor of this gadget. So what is a Shoft? SHOFT  is a small palm-sized product made of soft material that fits over the top of your vehicle seat belt tongue (that’s the bit you grab and pull down every time you buckle up).   After the 2 second install SHOFT reduces the usual ‘slack’ that creeps in to the seat belt.   How does it do this?  SHOFT has a built in ‘brake pad’ made of GRIPtene that engages the seat belt when you buckle up and remove the slack by tugging up on the diagonal section of the seat belt.  Keeping tension on the lap belt portion of the seat belt helps comply with RoSPA & NHTSA safety guidelines and also helps with better posture as it reduces ‘slouching’. Video Marketing Surrey and Hampshire

If you need a video made about your business, I can help.. I make promotional style videos for companies throughout the South of England.     These are not glamour style videos, we can see enough of those on television and we all know that no-one watches those any more, because of the ability to fast forward though the commercials. Of course there is a place for beautifully produced videos, with the luxury shots and the voice-over with the deep based voice extolling the virtues of the product or service. However, not on the internet for local businesses. When someone goes on to the internet, they are looking for INFORMATION, about a product or your services. We need real people, telling real stories, talking about the products they offer and before you say I can’t do this, take a look at the following video that I made for Eco Fires and Stoves. A local company based in Church Crookham near Fleet in Hampshire. Pete Hillier is one of the directors of the business and he does a great job of explaining the features and benefits of a gas fire that he sells. He is not a television presenter, he is a business owner, with a product to sell and a company to sell, which I think he does really well. People come to your website for information..Don’t bore them with a ‘Talking Head’ video extolling the virtues of your company, how long you’ve been established, how you are number one in you industry…Blah Blah Blah..Boring…Switch off...

Video For Local Stove and Fireplace Company

Written by in General | 0 comments

This is a video I made for www.EcoFiresandStoves.co.uk They are a well established family run Fireplace and Stove Company with a reputation built on quality and customer service. “They are a local company for local people and serve customers within a 25 mile radius of Fleet”… From their website. This video takes the form of an advert, for the Charnwood C4 Stove., but it’s more of an infomercial.  Whereby the product is explained, but without the salesy pitch. It explains the features and benefits of the product, it talks about the company that makes the product and features the logo for Eco Fires and Stoves throughout. Video Marketing Of course just having one video is not going to get you much notice on YouTube, nor can making one video for your company be called video marketing.. A series of videos inexpensively produced, will give more traction than one expensively produced and shot glamour video.. Remember that people are not watching TV here, they are searching on line for information.....
